Winter tale e-book [to publish]

Great news! I finally have something you'll be able to read soon! If all goes according to plan, then you'll be able to download this e-book from various platforms before Christmas!

But what is this 'winter tale' I'm talking about? And urban fantasy novella/novelette, set in winter. Add a little bit of magic, adventure and romance and you'll get a nice story to read or gift during the holidays! You'll find more details on my Books page within the week. I'm also adding a status report to my trilogy.

NaNoWriMo and job-hunting yet again

Where to start? First, hello, I am still alive :) Summer was long and exhausting. I couldn't go on holiday, because that was how my job worked back then. Then came October, my contract finished, it's the end of November and I am still looking for a job.

I really don't like job hunting, especially the cover letters. Yikes! Well, fingers crossed! I want to stay in London, so let's hope for the best. When I'm not writing, I'm reading job-seeking advice day and night. Crazy.

As for NaNoWriMo, this is my most productive November so far (6th year as a Wrimo). I hit 45K today, so only 5K more to go. Which can be done in less than a day, although I'm not sure if I want to do a marathon tomorrow. I should get out and... umm... maybe I'll write a couple of applications before continuing my novel.

Writing in London

Hi! It's been awhile! 2,5 months? Lots of happened, most important of all, I moved to London, because of a new job. I'm really looking forward to end the training, and start the job itself. I'll be able to use my hard-earned language skills, too! Whohoo!

And London. Have I mentioned I just love this city? I've been here a few times as a tourist, and ever since I've been trying to relocate. And after about 1,5 years from the first time I set my eyes on this lovely place, I did it! I'm actually living here! :)

I'm struggling a little bit with writing, to be honest. I'm still settling in and in need of a couple of things, for example, a place where I can write comfortably and freely. But I'm working on that.
And there's this wonderful magazine, with useful infos. I've just purchased a copy for this month. Whenever I read it (or skim it), I always get that extra boost to try and try harder to make my ambitions a reality. It's called Writing Magazine.
You're sure to find something interesting each month, whether you're just starting out, or an experienced writer.

Well, that's it for today. And... I think I'm actually putting this online now. Otherwise it's just wasted money (which I am completely against), plus Writing Mag gave me an extra nudge today. So, be brave, Katelyn, and let the www see what you've done.

Plans for the long weekend

I've been struggling a bit. When I get home after work, I've barely any energy or brain-power left. I need the weekends off to charge myself up. Which leaves me with the dilemma, when to write? If it was November, I'd try to force myself, but this is different from NaNoWriMo, where you only need to concentrate on the quantity.

Aside from that particular month, I need to be an editor AND a writer when I create. It's especially true now that I'm revising Book 1. Which brings me to another question: do I finish the revision of Book 1 and then finish the first draft of Book 3, or is it alright for me to just continue Book 3 when I feel like it, regardless if I finished revising Book 1?

Now we have a 4-day long weekend, and I've been on holiday this week, so I'm supposed to be well-rested, recharged and ready! But which one to work on? Book 1 or Book 3? And the eternal question: why is it so hard to start? Once I start, I usually continue more easily.

... I think my problem lies with where I am with Book 1. I'm almost completely rewriting a storyarc and it's not easy, at all.

Look what I found!

I know I've yet to put up a description of the trilogy I'm currently working on - write it up for my paranoia ;) -, but I can't not share this!

It's a key. On a necklace. When I saw it at the shop, I couldn't just walk by, because things like this play a big part in my trilogy. Well, they look a bit different, but close enough, I guess. I just needed this.

Now, let's get back to revising the 1st volume. (Current status: revising vol. 1 /2nd half/, vol. 2 is completed, waiting for revision AND vol. 3 is at about 2/3 written. Plans: finish revising vol. 1, then finish writing vol. 3. Then revise vol. 1 /again/ and this time, continue revision with vol. 2 & 3.)

PS.: Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy can't I put the text next to the picture? Why, oh, why?

Bye, bye 2013 - Welcome 2014!

Let's wrap up the year in a few sentences now when there's only one more day in 2013.

• Started a job on 1st January.
• Visited London for the second time ever in May.
• Learnt some more Korean.
• Learnt some more Russian.
• Got to know lots of new people; friends and foes both.
• Finished the second volume of my trilogy.
• Won NaNoWriMo for the 5th time in a row, which means I've written about 70% of the last volume of my trilogy.
• Finally I could visit Debrecen on 20th August, so I could see the Flower Carnival.
• Had my own place for about 5-6 months.
• Started this website!
• Read a bunch of books. And re-read some more books.
• Watched some amazing movies and TV shows!

And what about 2014? Well, I ought to pick up my pen and scribble down my goals for the year in my notebook. Then, we'll see next December how many I could tick as completed during the year.

One thing is for sure: I'm going to London at the end of January! And I want to go a second time next year. I've been missing London so much since May...
And of course, I have plans with my novels ;)

NaNoWriMo 2013 - The beginning

I didn't get to plan anything last weekend and up until 2 hours before midnight on 31st October, I wasn't sure what do write.

You see, I always have several ideas that just wait to get on the monitor! And I was unsure what would be better: to finish several projects and be a 'rebel', or finish the last volume in a series. 

I'm finishing the trilogy. Though I immediately had second thoughts on the first evening, because I'm still too close to the story. I wanted something fresh and thought I should had started a new one. Then again, another new one??? Thankfully, Inspiration came and I was able to start.
I'm planning on writing 2k words each day this weekend, so I'll be able to get ahead! So far, so good. *knocks on wood thrice*
Sadly, there'll be some busy days at work, but I hope I can use the slow times to write some more. We'll see how it works out.

Happenings

  Many things happened in the past few days. I have moved back to my home from the flat I was renting, yesterday was a National Holiday for my country AND there're only 8 more days until NaNoWriMo! 

Today was a strange Monday, which is followed by a Friday. Gotta love these kind of days. 

Still not sure what to write in November. Should I rebel and finish my earlier works? Or should I just go ahead and write the third, final volume in my trilogy? The latter would probably be most beneficial.
I'm going on a holiday this weekend (making it a 3-day weekend) and hope to do some plotting and planning for NaNoWriMo.
